Bowls of flowers and foating candles make a very pretty presentation for table centerpieces, and have the added benefit of being extremely easy to assemble. Pictured above, pastel colors set the perfect tone for a spring wedding. A large silk floral bloom is immersed in an elegant clear glass bowl. In keeping with the floral theme, four floating rose-shaped candles in a combination of pastel colors float on the surface of the water. The arrangement is placed on the center of the table atop a table runner in coordinating pastel mauve. To add to the look, small flower pots of votive candles surrounded by pastel roses are placed in alternating positions along the center of the retangular table, on both sides of the floating candle display. For a final finishing touch, faux rose petals are scattered delicately around the table. Flower pots blooming with roses and filler flowers are breathtaking for centerpeices at a summer wedding. An arrangement like the one shown above is very versatile - it would be as suitable at a an elegant ballroom reception as it would at an outdoor garden wedding or an afternoon luncheon reception. Consider something like this for centerpieces at an elegant bridal shower or engagement party also. Simple to make for yourself, just cut floral foam to fit inside a terra cotta flower pot (this one has been painted pale yellow). Insert the foam into the pot securely then cut the stems of silk roses to the appropriate length and insert into the floral foam, angling stems as necessary to give the arrangment a graceful shape. Add interest and dimension to the arrangement by inserting stems of baby's breath or English Statice for some nice filler and your centerpiece is ready to go. Give them away at the end of the evening to special guests or helpers.
